Do I need to be flexible?
This is the most common misconception which prevents people starting yoga. All that matters is that you try the right way, and then you will get 100% of the benefits, and see rapid improvements.

Is yoga cardio? Can I lose weight?
Yes. Bikram's method is challenging for all levels of fitness. Each posture combines strength, flexibility and balance to give a complete workout to every muscle in the body, including the heart.

Can I do Bikram yoga if I'm pregnant?
If you are pregnant, practising in the heated studio is not recommended unless you have been regularly practicing prior to your pregnancy. Women have practised Bikram yoga right through with no problems but this is a personal choice particularly in the first trimester when a woman's core temperature should'nt be raised. Your doctor should be consulted to be sure you are in good health.

Are there advanced classes?
In place of advanced classes we prefer a more egalitarian approach where all levels of yoga students practice together. We direct students who are ready towards more challenging versions of the same pose. As your body evolves, so too does your practice. At Yoga Tree, we believe that having advanced and beginning students together not only inspires new-comers but also creates a fantastic, supportive group energy. Even though you may have years of previous yoga experience, expect to be challenged and inspired!
